When people ask how Kristie became an interior designer, they're often surprised to learn that her journey didn't begin with decorating homes — it began with studying Environmental Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Environmental Design is about much more than aesthetics; it's the study of how people experience a space — how materials, color, lighting, scale, and layout influence the way we live, work, gather, and feel. That philosophy has shaped every project since.

Over the past 15 years, Kristie has designed an incredibly diverse range of spaces — from music award show environments and a branded retail experience for Verizon, to short-term rental properties, luxury vacation homes, and private residences across the United States. While every project looked different, they all shared one common goal: creating an environment that made people feel something.

Many clients come to a project knowing what they don't like, but struggling to articulate what they do. That process of discovery — asking the right questions, listening carefully, and paying attention to the details others might overlook — is where the studio's work begins. The goal is never to impose a single style, but to uncover the client's own.

Design Philosophy

Every space should be functional, beautiful, and welcoming. A home should support daily routines while also feeling elevated and inspiring — collected rather than decorated, layered rather than overdesigned, and timeless enough to evolve with you over the years.
